About the

Artists

Jesse Mills, Violin

A two-time Grammy nominee, Jesse Mills is known for his versatility across classical, contemporary, and improvisational music. A founding member of the Horszowski Trio, he has performed internationally, including a sold-out debut at Wigmore Hall in London in 2019. Mills has collaborated with cutting-edge ensembles such as the FLUX Quartet and is co-artistic director of the Alpenglow Chamber Music Festival. He studied at Juilliard under Dorothy DeLay, Robert Mann, and Itzhak Perlman and is on the faculty at Longy School of Music of Bard College and Brooklyn College.


Ole Akahoshi, Cello

Praised for his warm and expressive tone, German-born cellist Ole Akahoshi has performed with renowned orchestras, including the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and the Czechoslovakian Radio Orchestra. At just 11 years old, he was accepted as a student of the legendary Pierre Fournier. He later studied at Juilliard, Yale, and Indiana University under Aldo Parisot and Janos Starker. Akahoshi is Assistant Professor of Cello at the Yale School of Music, Director of the Grammy-nominated Yale Cellos, and a faculty member at Manhattan School of Music and Longy School of Music of Bard College.


Rieko Aizawa, Piano

Hailed by The New York Times for her impressive musicality and expressive phrasing, Rieko Aizawa has performed at prestigious venues such as Lincoln Center, Chicago’s Orchestra Hall, Vienna’s Konzerthaus, and London’s Wigmore Hall. The youngest-ever participant at the Marlboro Music Festival, she has performed with the Guarneri and Orion String Quartets. Aizawa is a Steinway Artist, co-founder of Duo Prism, and Artistic Director of the Alpenglow Chamber Music Festival. She studied at Curtis Institute and Juilliard, where she was the last pupil of Mieczysław Horszowski.
