About the
Solomiya Ivakhiv, Violin
Hailed as one of the “major artists of our time” (Fanfare Magazine), Solomiya Ivakhiv is a celebrated Ukrainian-born soloist, chamber musician, and educator. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, Concertgebouw, and the Kyiv Philharmonic Hall, collaborating with leading orchestras across the United States, China, Turkey, and Ukraine. A champion of Ukrainian composers, she has released multiple award-winning recordings on NAXOS, Brilliant Classics, and Centaur Records. Ivakhiv is a Professor of Violin and Viola & Head of Strings at the University of Connecticut and Artistic Director of Music at the Institute (MATI) in NYC.
Melvin Chen, Piano
A renowned pianist, professor, and academic leader, Dr. Melvin Chen has performed across North America, Europe, and Asia, with appearances on NPR, NHK Japan, and KBS Korea. A Harvard-trained chemist turned concert pianist, he holds double master's degrees from Juilliard and serves as Deputy Dean at the Yale School of Music. His performances include collaborations with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Bravo! Vail, Bard Music Festival, and Music from Angel Fire.
Emilie-Anne Gendron, Violin
Praised by The New York Times as a “brilliant soloist”, Emilie-Anne Gendron is a sought-after chamber musician, orchestral leader, and educator. She is a member of Orpheus, the Momenta Quartet, and Musicians from Marlboro. Her vast collaborations include performances with Talea Ensemble, A Far Cry, and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and she has served as concertmaster for Iris Collective and Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Gendron holds degrees from Juilliard and Columbia University.
William Frampton, Viola
William Frampton is an acclaimed violist, educator, and co-founder of Music at Bunker Hill. He is Principal Viola of the American Symphony Orchestra, a member of The Harlem Chamber Players, and an Associate Musician at The Metropolitan Opera. He has performed in Broadway productions such as Hamilton and The Lion King and recorded film scores including Joker, The Greatest Showman, and West Side Story. A graduate of Juilliard and New England Conservatory, he teaches at The College of New Jersey.
Laura Metcalf-Boyd, Cello
A Gramophone-acclaimed cellist, Laura Metcalf-Boyd has performed on six continents, appearing with Grammy-winning ensembles such as Eighth Blackbird, Sybarite5, and The Knights. She has toured extensively with her Boyd Meets Girl cello & guitar duo, recorded chart-topping albums, and performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Ravinia Festival, and Newport Classical. A passionate educator, she has given masterclasses at Juilliard, Curtis, and New England Conservatory.
