About the
Artists
Daniel Phillips, Violin
A co-founder of the Orion String Quartet, Daniel Phillips enjoyed a 37-year career with the ensemble before its final concert in April 2024. A graduate of Juilliard, he has performed as a soloist with major orchestras, including the Pittsburgh, Houston, and San Antonio Symphonies. He is a professor at The Juilliard School, Bard College Conservatory, and Aaron Copland School of Music.
Emma Frucht, Violin
A Grammy-nominated violinist and member of the Aizuri Quartet, Emma Frucht has performed at Carnegie Hall, 92Y, and Boston’s Celebrity Series. She is a tenured member of the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and frequently performs with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, East Coast Chamber Orchestra, and the American Symphony Orchestra.
William Frampton, Viola
Praised by The New York Times for his “impressive” performances, William Frampton is the Principal Viola of the American Symphony Orchestra and co-founder of Music at Bunker Hill. He has played in over 100 performances with Midori Goto’s string quartet and has recorded for film scores such as Joker, West Side Story, and The Greatest Showman.
Cara Pogossian, Viola
A rising star in chamber music, Cara Pogossian has performed at prestigious festivals such as Marlboro, Ravinia, and Taos. She is a 2024 St. Botolph Club Foundation Emerging Artist Award recipient and recently won the NEC Concerto Competition.
Marcy Rosen, Cello
Called “a New York legend of the cello” by The New Yorker, Marcy Rosen is a founding member of the Mendelssohn String Quartet and Co-Artistic Director of the Chesapeake Chamber Music Festival. She has performed worldwide and currently serves as Professor of Cello at Queens College and Artistic Director of the Evnin Rising Stars program
at Caramoor.
